Biometric Data Collection and Retention Policy

Purpose

This Biometric Data Collection and Retention Policy (“the Policy”) describes how we collect, use, store and safeguard your photographic and voice data you provide through the PressPlay Platform that we use to create facial recognition scans and voiceprints (“biometric data”) in order to:  (1) analyze your interactions with and reactions to the content you view in connection with our research; and (2) verify your identity in connection with your participation in our research (the “Research Services”)

Our Use and Disclosure of Biometric Data

It is our policy to protect, use and store your biometric data in accordance with all applicable laws. We and our service providers under contract to perform services solely on our behalf will only collect, use, and store your biometric data for the purposes disclosed above, as well as to improve our research processes.  We will not sell, market or profit from your biometric data and will only share or disclose your biometric data to third parties where: (i) required by applicable federal, state, or municipal law, including response to legal process (such as a subpoena, warrant or civil discovery request); (ii) you or your legally authorized representative consents to such disclosure; or (iii) the disclosure completes a financial transaction that you or your authorized representative has requested.

Storage and Retention of Biometric Data

We will store, transmit and protect your biometric data using a reasonable standard of care in accordance with the terms of our relevant agreement(s) with you, and for no longer than three (3) years, unless legally permitted to be maintained longer, for example, if preservation of your biometric data is required by a warrant or subpoena.  We will store, transmit and protect your biometric data using appropriate technical and organizational measures.

We will store, transmit and protect your biometric data using a reasonable standard of care in accordance with the terms of our relevant agreement(s) with you, and for no longer than one (1) years, unless legally permitted to be maintained longer, for example, if preservation of your biometric data is required by a warrant or subpoena.  We will store, transmit and protect your biometric data using appropriate technical and organizational measures. We will permanently destroy your biometric data when its initial collection purpose no longer exists, but in any even in no longer than one (1) year from its collection, or upon receiving notice from any user that the user is withdrawing their consent and shutting down their PressPlay account. We will maintain a repository of notices and consents obtained through this policy, and will provide any requesting user with a copy of their notice or consent promptly upon request.
